Drew Barrymore‘s Playboy cover has officially come back to haunt her. While interviewing Christina Aguilera on this morning’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the actress revealed that her daughter weaponized her nude shoot after she was told she wasn’t allowed to wear a crop top.

The hilarious revelation came as Barrymore and Aguilera talked about parenting their young kids in this day and age.

“I try to create such a safe space for them because mine so wasn’t safe coming up and I’ve spoken very openly about this,” Aguilera said. “But I just want them — how can you teach your kids to be so grateful for something that you’ve been able to.”

She added, “You have to be able to communicate with your kids and be strong enough to have real talks with them. And there’s certain age-appropriate ways to do that. If it’s sexualities or genders or this or that. My kids are exposed to a plethora of so many different types of personalities and sexual preferences and politics.”

Barrymore — who shares daughters Olive, 11, and Frankie, 9, with her ex-husband — noted that she grew up in the same “liberal” atmosphere.

“My daughter wants to wear a crop top,” Barrymore explained. “I’ll say no and she’ll go, ‘You were on the cover of Playboy.'”

Aguilera broke down in laughter, before recalling a similar moment in her own life she knew would come back to bite her.

“I knew it was coming the day I wore chaps,” she joked. “I’m like, ‘One day.’ Because my daughter wants to wear a crop top too and I’m like, ‘Can we just pull it down?’ I see myself doing that.”

Barrymore, who was only 19 years old when she posed for the cover of Playboy, previously opened up about her decision to take on the gig.

“I was taking my power back,” she told Pamela Anderson during a February 2023 episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, adding that she was “being a wild child and being free and discovering myself and growing up.”

However, she admitted that she wasn’t thinking about her future children when she appeared on the cover.

“When I was doing Playboy and loving it and having so much fun and don’t regret a thing and love it, I didn’t know I’d have kids later,” she said.
