Ordained Ministers Kelly Ripa And Mark Consuelos Marry A Couple At The Same Vegas Chapel Where They Eloped On ‘Live’: “Kiss Until The Kids Are Uncomfortable!”

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos took a trip down both memory lane and lover’s lane on this morning’s Live with Kelly and Mark. The co-hosts went back to Chapel of the Bells, the Las Vegas chapel where they eloped in 1996, and set out on a “secret mission.”

“Do you remember how you were feeling on our wedding day?” Ripa asked Consuelos, who said that he experienced some of the same feelings returning to the chapel.

Ripa replied, “Really? What were those feelings?”

Consuelos quipped, “I started getting sweaty.”

He noted that they “were 25-year-olds” when they tied the knot, and that their eldest son is now 26.

Cracking up, Ripa said, “That doesn’t make any sense!”

In a heartfelt moment, Consuelos told Ripa, “In a city where people roll the dice everyday here, this is probably one of the safest bets I’ve made.”

They then revealed their plan to “surprise” a couple “waiting to get married” at the chapel.

“We came up with this idea on the show because we’re both ordained ministers, was that we could actually marry someone,” Consuelos explained. “What if they say no?”

Ripa replied, “That’s what my fear is! What are you going to do then?”

They then met the couple and proposed their idea.

Ripa exclaimed, “We were so excited to hear that you’re getting married here!” as Consuelos chimed in, “You know, we got married here!”

Ripa added, “And it’s almost our 28th wedding anniversary, so we were thinking it would be an honor for us if you allowed us to marry you. We’re both ordained ministers.”

The bride-to-be replied, “Absolutely!”

Ripa reiterated, “Would that be OK? Or would you be brutally disappointed?”

The couple shared that they met in 2019 and work together, which thrilled Ripa and Consuelos, who enthusiastically told them that they also “met at work.”

“We are you 30 years in the future!” Ripa exclaimed. “So, look at your future!”

Consuelos highlighted that “the marriages here stick,” and that he and Ripa are “living proof.”

Viewers got a glimpse of their ceremony helmed by Ripa and Consuelos, where the former concluded by saying, “Now kiss until the kids are uncomfortable!”

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Ripa teased, “I think we were more nervous performing this wedding than being at our own wedding.” She even likened the experience to “looking back at a 28-year time warp.”
