The rights to stream Taylor Swift‘s coveted concert film were reportedly worth a significant chunk of change to Disney boss Bob Iger.

According to Matthew Belloni’s Puck newsletter, the Disney CEO allegedly shelled out over $75 million to the pop star’s family for Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor’s Version) to stream on Disney+, besting fellow media powerhouses Netflix and Universal, who were also involved in a bidding war over the film.

Decider reached out to Disney+ Global Publicity for comment, but did not hear back by time of publication.

Before landing its Disney+ streaming deal, Swift’s Eras film raked in more than $93 million at the box office during its opening weekend, per IMDb, and ultimately brought in over $261 million internationally (over half of which went to Swift, per Belloni). The AMC app actually crashed ahead of the film’s Oct. 13 premiere once Swift revealed her movie’s release date on social media.

On Wednesday (Feb. 7), Disney announced the March 15 streaming debut of The Eras Tour, which features “cardigan” and four other acoustic songs of Swift’s that weren’t included in the film’s theatrical and VOD releases.

In the press release sharing the news, Iger said, “The Eras Tour has been a true phenomenon that has and continues to thrill fans around the world, and we are very excited to bring this electrifying concert to audiences wherever they are, exclusively on Disney+.”

This news arrives shortly after the streamer unveiled a new update in the wake of their password sharing crackdown. During Disney’s quarterly earnings call on Wednesday (Feb. 7), the company’s CFO Hugh Johnston shared, “beginning this summer Disney+ accounts suspected of improper sharing will be presented with new capabilities to allow their borrowers to start their own subscriptions,” per Variety. This means that subscribers will eventually be able to pay to share their account with people outside of their “household.”
