‘Mean Girls’ (2024) Comes to Digital, But When Will It Be on Paramount+?

Directed by Samantha Jayne and Arturo Perez Jr., and written by Tina Fey, Mean Girls (2024) is a movie adaptation of the Broadway musical, which in turn was an adaptation of the popular 2004 Mean Girls film. We’ve come full circle! Australian actress Angourie Rice stars as the wide-eyed Cady Heron, a new girl at her high school who falls in with the popular girl crowd, led by the ruthless Regina George (played by pop star Renée Rapp). Also starring Auliʻi Cravalho, Jaquel Spivey, Avantika, Bebe Wood, and Christopher Briney, this new Mean Girls movie hits all the familiar beats of the original film, with a few song and dance numbers thrown in.

Though the new Mean Girls made a solid showing at the theatrical box office, we know a lot of you were waiting to watch this one at home. Well, the wait is finally over. Beginning on Tuesday, February 20, Mean Girls (2024) became available to buy and rent digitally on Amazon Prime, Google Play, Apple TV, Vudu, and more. The price may vary depending on which platform you use to purchase the film, but on Amazon Prime, Mean Girls costs $19.99 to rent and $24.99 to buy.

The digital release of Mean Girls (2024) will also include over 30 minutes of bonus content, including a sing-along version of the musical movie. Other special features include “A New Age of Mean Girls,” “Song and Dance,” “The New Plastics,” a gag reel, an extended scene, and the music video for Reneé Rapp and Megan Thee Stallion’s single “Not My Fault.”

Mean Girls (2024) will also be released on DVD, Blu-Ray, and 4K on April 30.

Mean Girls (2024) will also be streaming on Paramount Plus at some point, because it is a Paramount movie. That said, there is not yet a Mean Girls (2024) Paramount Plus release date, and Paramount has not had a consistent streaming release strategy.

Another Paramount release, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem began streaming on Paramount+ about two weeks after the movie came to digital platforms. If Mean Girls follows a similar pattern, we can expect to see the new Mean Girls movies on Paramount+ around early-to-mid March 2024.
