This Is Me Now: A Love Story

Be sure to watch to the very end of the new Jennifer Lopez’s movie on Amazon Prime, because you don’t want to miss the This Is Me… Now end credits scene. Don’t you want to see JLo having fun on set?

Directed by Dave Meyers, and written by Lopez and Matt Walton, This Is Me… Now: A Love Story is sort of like Beyoncé’s Lemonade, but a heck of a lot more campy. At it’s core, it’s a tribute to Lopez and Affleck’s once-in-a-lifetime love story, following Lopez’s emotional journey after the infamous Bennifer break-up in 2004.

Lopez cheerfully pokes fun at her many relationships and marriages that followed. Ultimately, her character in This Is Me… Now: A Love Story must find herself before she is able to find her way back to her one true love, aka Ben Affleck.

It’s only 65 minutes long, but so much happens, from the absolutely bonkers, star-studded zodiac council to Ben Affleck in a ridiculous wig and fake nose.

And yet, when the credits start to roll, JLo’s fever dream still isn’t quite over.

Does This Is Me…Now: A Love Story have an end credits scene?

This Is Me… Now has two more scenes after the credits begin to roll. First, we get a mid-credits scene, featuring bonus footage of Affleck as the Southern, love-obsessed news anchor known as Rex Stone.

In the mid-credits scene, Rex Stone has one last piece of advice on the subject of love: “Loving yourself means never having to say, ‘I’m lonely,'” Affleck tells the camera sagely. “It means ol’ Rexy can go down to the lobby bar, order the oysters and a club soda, and go to bed smiling. Even though the waitress was mean as a diabetic honey-badger. Because only you can let the love in your heart die. And you should never let it die.”

Wise words, Rex. Wise words.

But wait, there’s more! At the very end of the credits—after all song credits and the company logos—JLo has one last treat for her fans. And what a sweet treat it is: behind-the-scenes footage of her “Can’t Get Enough” music video. Apparently, JLo had a surprise for the three actors who played her three husbands.

First, Lopez smears cake onto the face of Derek Hough, who played “Husband No. 2.” Then we see here do the exact same thing to Trevor Jackson, aka “Husband No. 3.” Jackson doesn’t take it lying down, and smears cake in JLo’s face right back. It’s cute, especially when Jackson goes in for even more cake, and JLo holds up her hand with a fearful, “No! No more!”

But she’s laughing when he chases her down all the same—and when she starts grabbing fistfuls of cake and throwing them at the supporting cast and the extras. What a fun day on set!
