Jennifer Lopez’s This Is Me… Now movie—now streaming on Amazon Prime—features a Greek chorus in the form of a “Zodiac Council,” because of course it does. And you better believe that zodiac council casts Post Malone as a stereotypical Leo dirtbag who hits on all the zodiac ladies. This is a campy, fever dream version of Beyoncé’s visual album Lemonade, and JLo is going all in, baby!

This Is Me… Now: A Love Story is a new 65-minute “cinematic narrative,” which was released in tandem with JLo’s new album, This Is Me… Now. It’s a series of music videos, connected by a narrative: JLo’s character, credited as The Artist, must find herself after a rough break-up with her one true love. It’s not-so-secretly a tribute to Lopez’s infamous break-up with Ben Affleck in 2004, and Lopez cheerfully pokes fun at her many relationships and marriages that followed. That includes an imagined council of the zodiac signs, who live in space, and watch and judge JLo’s every move.

Lopez explained her inspiration for the zodiac council in an interview for the This Is Me… Now: A Love Story press notes. “I decided early on that this story was going to include a zodiac council, like a Greek chorus,” Lopez said. “This represents all the people who comment on your personal life all the time. You have your girlfriends who are talking about you. You have your coworkers, your family, all of that. With me, you add the media on top of that. I always had a Greek chorus commenting on my life, so I said, we need to show this hopeless romantic that there are always people watching.”

Obviously, everyone on the zodiac council in This Is Me… Now movie cast must be played by a celebrity.

Who plays the zodiac signs in the This Is Me… Now cast?

This Is Me… Now casts Jane Fonda as Sagittarius, Trevor Noah as Libra, Kim Petras as Virgo, Keke Palmer as Scorpio, Sofía Vergara as Cancer, Jenifer Lewis as Gemini, Jay Shetty as Aries, Neil DeGrasse Tyson as Taurus, Sadhguru as Pisces, and, last but certainly not least, rapper Post Malone as Leo.

The hip-hop artist—instantly identifiable by his face tats—dons a huge fur coat that Ryan Gosling’s Ken would be envious of. On his front hangs a large, garish, golden lion medallion, representing his sign. It’s ridiculous and hilarious. But even more ridiculous and hilarious is Malone’s genuinely funny comedic performance in this fever dream. I laughed out loud when he thoughtfully mused, “Could be daddy issues,” in response to why JLo loves a bad boy. (And shout-out to Lopez’s co-writer, Matt Walton, for the fun dialogue.) I laughed again basically every time Post Malone offered a sincere psychoanalysis, from his enthusiastic delivery of “above her physical self” to his genuine “She’s broken, bro.”

I’ll be the first to admit that I know little to nothing about astrology, but I can only assume, based on Post Malone’s persona in this film, that Leos are major players. Because Post Malone’s version of Leo wastes no time informing Kim Petras’ Virgo that she “would look hot in bangs.”

“Leo, always shooting your shot,” replies Keke Palmer.

He keeps up this sleazy-but-lovable dirtbag vibe throughout, waving around his silver cup and smirking at all the zodiac ladies. Low-key, it was working for me.

I know I keep repeating this phrase, but every single moment of these zodiacal council scenes is a fever dream. It’s not just Post Malone—there’s also Jane Fonda offering sage wisdom, Neil DeGrasse Tyson musing on the mysteries of the universe, and a bemused-looking Sadhguru, the Indian yoga influencer. It’s bonkers.

As Sofía Vergara notes in a behind-the-scenes clip featured during the This Is Me… Now credits, “This has to be one of the weirdest things I’ve ever done in my life!”
