Jimmy Kimmel played into some fan theories following Sunday night’s (Feb. 4) Grammy Awards.

During his Monday night (Feb. 5) monologue, the Jimmy Kimmel Live host teased Taylor Swift, who received her 13th and 14th Grammy this weekend, per The Wrap. First, he poked fun at the pop artist’s recent re-recordings known to listeners as “Taylor’s Version,” deeming her “the first artist to win Album of the Year four times — all for the same album.”

He then honed in on a particular moment that fans have been buzzing about that took place while Swift accepted the award.

“She also made history by becoming the first white woman to ignore Celine Dion,” Kimmel quipped.

Swift’s alleged diss was noticed by viewers while she was presented with Album of the Year by the “My Heart Will Go On” vocalist. Fans noticed that while accepting her award, Swift didn’t interact with Dion, as she hugged and celebrated with her collaborators who stood with her onstage, including producer Jack Antonoff and fellow nominee Lana Del Rey.

Online, some critics saw Swift’s behavior toward the six-time Grammy Award winner as a lack of respect, claiming that “her ignoring Celine Dion speaks volumes.”

Nonetheless, there appears to be no “bad blood” between the two artists; they were captured sharing a hug backstage after the awards show, per People. Dion’s appearance on Sunday night was a surprise, as she has stayed mostly out of the public eye since breaking the news of her stiff-person syndrome diagnosis in 2022, per Variety.

As for Swift, she also made headlines during Sunday night’s awards ceremony while accepting the award for Best Pop Vocal Album, as she revealed that her next original album, The Tortured Poets Department, is out on April 19.

Jimmy Kimmel Live airs on weeknights at 11:35/10:35c on ABC. Watch last night’s monologue above.
