MSNBC host Joy Reid apologized after she was caught swearing on air during a recent broadcast of her show, The ReidOut.

Reid was sharing a segment about how Republicans have been responding to a bipartisan border deal that Donald Trump recently spoke out against. But Reid’s slip-up occurred while sharing a clip of President Joe Biden addressing the border legislation in South Carolina.

“If that bill were the law today, I’d shut down the border right now and fix it quickly… And Congress needs to get it done,” Biden said in the clip.

As he spoke, Reid could be heard laughing and saying, “–Starting another f**king war,” before the audio on her mic was cut. It is unclear what she was speaking in reference to. Her audio soon returned as she continued on with the segment.

Reid later issued an apology on the air.

“I was chatting during a clip that was playing, and you know, we try to keep this show very PG-13, so I just want to apologize to anyone who was listening to my behind-the-scenes chatter,” she said. “I deeply, deeply apologize for that.”

The clip began circulating on X, where many appeared to believe she was talking about President Biden in her hot mic statement.

“The very unprofessional Joy Reid of MSNBC had a hot mic moment,” one wrote.

“Wow this Hot Mic Moment! Is this how Joy Reid REALLY feels about Biden?” another added.

The legislation in question would allow Biden to shut down the U.S.-Mexico border if more than 5,000 migrants cross in any given day, according to The Associated Press.

Trump, who is hoping to secure the Republican nomination and run against Biden in this year’s presidential election, has been pressuring Republican politicians not to agree to the bill.
